Description
The Magaliesberg has been home to humanity from the beginning of our existence. People from diverse backgrounds, professions, and cultures – hunters and explorers, kings and chiefs, soldiers and scientists, artists and archaeologists – have all threaded their lives into the fabric of the past and shaped the rich heritage of the Magaliesberg and the Cradle of Humankind.
These are the People of the Magaliesberg.
Their legacy – preserved in artefacts, oral traditions, literature, and legend – is now vividly portrayed in the words and images of this book. Almost 300 individuals are described and placed in their historical context. Some are well-known public figures, others may have been overlooked or forgotten. Together, their stories make fascinating reading as well as providing a valuable work of reference.
